Nominations due for excellence awards

WCC Each year WCC calls for nominations to recognize faculty, staff and community members who have demonstrated excellence in the work they do.

The honors include the UH Board of Regents Excellence in Teaching award for a full-time faculty member as well as a Meritorious Lecturer Award.

Last year, mathematics instructor Jody-Lynn Storm and ceramics lecturer Bryce Myers were the winners.

They received a cash award and an engraved Board of Regents medal at last May’s commencement.

A committee of students, faculty and staff reviews the nominations and makes the final selection.

The deadline for this year’s nominations is Monday, March 9 by 4:30 p.m. Those who have previously received the award are not eligible.

Other nominations, due by March 20, can be made for the Chancellor’s award for outstanding service and outstanding volunteer and the Kunimoto Memorial Award, which recognizes a student or faculty member who makes a significant contribution to vocational and technical education.
