The Lani-Kailua Outdoor Circle recently awarded $6,000 to fund Environmental Studies scholarships at Windward Community College.

This gift will be awarded to students during the 2017-2018 academic year.

Since 1993, the Lani-Kailua Outdoor Circle has funded more than 50 scholarships for students in agriculture and environmental studies at the college.

“As part of our educational outreach, all of us at Lani-Kailua Outdoor Circle have been proud to provide these scholarships to the next generation of stewards of our ‘aina,” said Diane Harding, Lani-Kailua Outdoor Circle president. “We look forward to helping students at Windward Community College be successful in their college studies. They will be the future for keeping our islands clean, green and beautiful.”

“Our students are fortunate to have donors step forward and offer financial help,” said Windward Community College Chancellor Doug Dykstra. “We have many students struggling to pay for tuition, books and fees, so every scholarship gift is critically important to both student success and persistence.”
